Softmaker's Office 2021 runs on macOS Sierra (for now) and later, Windows 10, and Linux. Although LibreOffice (currently) supports Sierra, don't count on it for long, and although LibreOffice can open all of your MS Office 2011 documents, there is a steep learning curve, even with quite good documentation. So, unless you are willing to acquire a newer Mac capable of running those operating system requirements, you are done with Microsoft Office. Microsoft now requires macOS Catalina or later to install new Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 for Mac products. Office 2011 was followed by Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac released on September 22, 2015, requiring a Mac with an 圆4 Intel processor and OS X Yosemite or later. If it were not for item 1, Office would require a new license purchase due to the UUID change. Change the drive and restoring MS Office causes it to bork because the UUID of the drive changed. MS Office associates the drive UUID with the initial installation.Microsoft has disabled the license servers for their retired MS Office products.
